S: Is for singing and Mariah and Lisa messing with the paparazzi's heads

We all know who Mariah Carey is but who is Lisa Miller? Well for one thing she looks and sounds just like Mariah, and I should know as I am sitting right next to her. Lisa for most of her life has worked behind the scenes as a make-up artist for film and Television. Her clients include Rebecca Romijn, LL Cool Jay and Taye Diggs among others. Being encouraged to be in front of the camera, she started acting when she was doing make-up for Rollerball. The director John Mc Tiernan needed a body double for Rebecca Romijn and was casting all day long, discouraged and seeing Lisa in front of him he bribed her to do it and the journey began. Films followed with Basic, Tony and Tina's Wedding (The Movie), Hoax with Ricard Gere and Fox news.

For the video Lisa plays Mariah's gender bending doppleganger for her Obsessed video due out this Monday July 13th. Shot at the Plaza Hotel the two switched roles with Mariah playing the female version and Lisa the bearded male. After several takes the two switched places. All together there are 3 females and 4 males that the two switched places for. Brett Ratner director of X-Men, The Family Man, The Rush Hour series and more was on hand. Big things will be happening for Lisa and Mariah's Obsessed video and that is a F.A.C.T.

T: Is for outrage over Taxes

On June 30th Times Square has a Tea Party of sorts. The anti-Obama pep rally occupied part of the street and part of the sidewalk and stretched from the subway entrance to the door of Ruby Tuesday's. There were between a thousand and to2.5 million depending on who you talk to. Signs and t-shirts were anti-Obama ("Don't Blame Me I Voted for the Old White Guy," stated "Taxed Enough Already." Speakers expressed concern for their allegedly endangered freedoms, but were most exercised by the prospect of giving up any more of their money. "Reckless spending, unread legislative bills, and runaway government -- I'm sick of it," said Organizer Kellen Giuda. Fox was there... where is the rest of the media? Millions of people across the country are protesting against their government and they're refusing to put it on TV. It's time to act and TeaParty365 is ready to lead," said Guida. David Webb, said they were there to "send a message to our leaders, doesn't matter what party they're in... you represent us, we elect you, and we demand accountability." He also lavishly praised the NYPD for their support, bravery, etcetera. The first speaker was rightwing columnist Deroy Murdock (one thing you have to say about Obama -- he's been a one-man affirmative action program for black conservative speakers). Murdock set the non-partisan tone when he announced that he had been in the "free-market conservative movement" since volunteering in 1979 to work for Ronald Reagan. Murdock said legislators were acting like "teenagers with mommy and daddy's credit card," of which he was "sick and bloody tired. "Shame on George W. Bush, and shame on his architect, the overexposed Karl Rove." Obama, and the American taxpayer," Murdock concluded, "is exhausted and downright anemic." To my astonishment, GM is owned by the government, health care will have computers decidingt whether in fact that hip replacement you need will be a tin item or a titanium item, based on age and what some bureaucrat thinks is important. Lawn Guyland a "stay-at-home mom" is concerned that the health insurance her husband, who "works hard every day," gets from his job, will be "taxed" under the Obama Socialist Health Care Plan. Maybe someday we will be listened to but only if we insist and that is a F.A.C.T.

C: Is for Wall Street gets a new Club!

The Setai Club—the new outpost of the legendary Miami hotel/condo/restaurant/member's club/recording studio— all of it chic. Setai is built as the kind of multi-roomed, Asian-flavored Wall Street escape you'll want to frequent for power breakfasts, midday martini-tinged deal making and a little post-work relaxation. a few perks: gratis daily breakfast and regular member parties, a number of complimentary Zen spa treatments at the Setai Spa, membership and training at the Setai Fitness Studio, and a private member's lounge and bar carved out of SHO Shaun Hergatt. SHO, which opened earlier this month, is the first completed part of the Setai, which also includes luxury condos (from $815,000) and a gym, spa and private bar for members of the Setai Club ($5,000 a year), all coming on line later this summer. If it all sounds a little 2005 or 2006, that’s because it is: projects like these were, of course, conceived well before the economic downturn. (The Setai’s general manager Ronan Henaff told me that club memberships are nonetheless selling well, and 115 of the 167 condos have been sold and this is a luxurious F.A.C.T.

A: Is for the Art of Norman

Alan Ayckbourn's "Norman Conquests" is a trilogy of plays that chronicle Norman's conquest of the women in his life. Set over one weekend at a home in the English countryside. Each play takes place in a different locations around the house: the dining room in Table Manners, the living room in Living Together, and the garden in Round and Round the Garden. The ingenious result is that as plots unfold, something seemingly incidental in one play takes on a hysterical new context in the next.

Round and Round in the Garden, is perversely hysterical. In this production which oozes sexuality you understand why for the first time Norman is so damned appealing and why all the women fall for him. First staged in the early 1970s, I have seen four productions of this, so I was not really up for seeing another. It always seemed so over stylized and uptight, to me but, this revival makes you understand all the nuances. I could see it over and over again and still catch something new. These are neurotic middle-aged Brits in heat. Sarah (Amanda Root)is the busy buddy who needs to have control. Annie(Jessica Hynes), is desperately trying to have a dirty weekend which just keeps going wrong. Sarah husband, Reg (Paul Ritter), is hen tied and though he longs for more his wife will never allow it. Annie’s lethargic beau Tom (Ben Miles), the quiet local vet who’s been failing to court Annie for years is not the subject here. Norman (Stephen Mangan), is the maddening husband of Annie and Reg’s sister Ruth (Amelia Bullmore), the man of the hour who delightfully makes the audience adore him, as much as all the women. Matthew Warchus, deserved the Tony for best director for this production rather than God of Carnage as this is a delightful romp that makes you want to plunge into the absolute convulted world of Norman. Norman, is shaggy and charismatic, “a gigolo,” who lives to brighten the lives of the women of his family with a bit of romance. Mangan clearly gives one of the funniest performances of the year. Round and Round the Garden just keeps getting better. This production melts into your memory as one of the most delicious theatrical experiences of the decade. The comic high points even funnier in retrospect. This cast is superb, the set perfection and the direction sublime. Go see this before it closes July 26th or you will regret it and that is a F.A.C.T.

F: Is for food and drink together in a bar

Decadence has just reached a new level. Single Malt Scotch Cake and bar is all the rage. Scotch in the frosting, chocolate, caramel and salt. The candy bar is bold enough for Scotch lovers and smooth enough for all chocolate lovers. Single Malt Scotch and Dark Chocolate is a sin is some languages but together one great sensation in the confectionery world. From the first taste to the seductive aftertaste, new and complex flavors emerge that seem to enhance both the Scotch and the chocolate. Using Talisker 1992 Distillers Edition Single Malt Scotch, from the Isle of Skye. It was transferred from traditional bourbon oak into amoroso sherry casks to finish its maturation. The structure of the cake is actually pretty similar. The cake is a Chocolate Chiffon baked in angel food cake form, and it includes Walnut Oil. Brushed with a Scotch Simple Syrup to imbue the cake itself with flavor; ratio of sugar to water 1:1, with Scotch to taste(and taste!). Talisker, Caol Ila 18 year. It’s smoky, but oh so smooth. Caramel Filling, Fyi, the filling gets moister on the second day.
