A: Is for the Naked Arts
Come to Cocoa Exchange Rooftop for NAKED CITY ARTS Silent Auction Saturday, June 23rd 2007, at 6 pm. Featuring Artworks by Roger Carmona, Jon Coffelt, Kay Kyungeun Cho, Chris Eastland, Harry Hancock, Greg Lindquist, Jason Losko, Adam Rosenthal, Sean Slemon, and Michael Ricardo Andreev.
The reason to attend....is a series of paintings by Michael Ricardo-Andreev called Heraldic Stories in which he uses symbols as a new form of language. During the Middle Ages, the identification of warriors was thought emblazon shields. Andreev's paintings give a contemporary interpretation of this communication through abstract expressionism. Using blade oil paints and ivory pigment for his background a three dimension quality is achieved. Michael has made a name for himself in the Art World having been shown at The Whitney and other Major Galleries in Soho, New York and Overseas. Describing his style he states the anatomy of form and spirit infuses with vague perceptions of space. This is my reality. He interprets his work saying "Conscious movements emerges in increments ten fold, giving way to victorious visions of a now numb conscious state. Symbols at times become ambassadors of a soon to come dialect which will eventually be visually and physically digested creating a complex compost carpeting available surfaces. It's result a clear and distinct harmony."
To see this unique artists perspective as well as supporting a truly wonderful group show RSVP at miru@nakedcityarts.com or 917.399.8668. I have known Michael for awhile and he will intrigue and that's a F.A.C.T.
